Every traveler we met recommended the Trang An boat tour instead of the most famous Tam Coc one because it’s much more peaceful, with boat operators not harassing you to buy things left and right.
The boat ride in Trang An can be done on three different routes, depending on the length and the things you want to see.
We suggest taking route number 3, which includes the 1000 meters long Dot Cave, the longest cave in the complex.
It’s quite a relaxing ride, so you should be fine even if you’re claustrophobic. It's a well-trodden route, and everyone gets out!
The boat ride in Trang An lasts between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the route.
