Quick reasons why it’s worth staying in a Marrakesh Riad
Staying in a Riad is the first thing on our Marrakesh to-do list, and for good reason!

Riads offering a 10/10 experience
1. Riad Adore
We absolutely loved our stay at Riad Adore, and we’re so glad we chose it.
It’s two riads combined into one, with two terraces and lots of chill spots, a pool, fabulous breakfast, and even better rooms in a quiet alley of the medina.
Even though it’s in the medina, it’s only a 5-minute walk from a road where a taxi can drop you off.
In addition to all that, the staff was absolutely the best. They were friendly and supportive in exactly the way that we prefer – always accessible but never hovering. We love that!
We weren’t sure what to think of Riads having pools, and it seemed a bit weird at first, to be honest. Until we needed a cooling-off, and the pool came in so handy!
Now, of course, most riads don’t have large pools, as they’re more like plunge pools. And that was the case in Riad Adore, too. But you know what, it was exactly what we needed.
2. Riad Tizwa
Riad Tizwa is a smaller riad, but equally fantastic, with a delicious traditional breakfast, and is perfectly located for easy arrival and departure, while still within walking distance of the main medina spots.
A big reason we chose Riad Tizwa on one of our Marrakesh visits was that it was so easy to get to. It’s right next to a road that is still accessible by taxi before the medina turns pedestrian-only.
This was super important, as we arrived in Marrakesh super late in the evening, completely drained from a long travel day. We knew we’d hate to walk an extra 15, 20, or more minutes to our accommodation. So we booked a private transfer that dropped us off just seconds away from the door to the Riad. Fantastic!
Riad Tizwa is smaller compared to some other riads in Marrakesh, but honestly, that only added to its charm. And for the number of people staying there, there were definitely enough spots inside and on the rooftop to chill.
We also loved the delicious breakfast on the rooftop terrace!

3. Riad Abracadabra
Located in the heart of the medina, Riad Abracadabra is one of the best-rated riads in Marrakesh. It’s absolutely gorgeous, with super-comfortable rooms and a fantastic rooftop terrace that even has a small pool.
Compared to the two previous riads we recommended and stayed at, it’s not right next to a road accessible by taxi. But it’s still only about a 10-minute walk from the nearest accessible road near Jemaa el-Fna square.
Travel tip: If you have heavy luggage, you can arrange a porter to help you bring it to the riad.
Keep in mind that it’s located very close to a mosque, so you will hear the call to prayer at quite a loud volume. That’s why we always recommend bringing some good earplugs when traveling, no matter the destination.
4. Riad Palais Sebban
As the name implies, Riad Palais Sebban looks exactly like a palace, especially with its beautiful details, tilework, and overall vibe.
It’s completely different from other smaller-scale riads, with a larger-than-usual main pool, two additional pools, more and larger rooms, and a stunning rooftop terrace.
The location of Riad Palais Sebban is on the edge of the medina, so it’s only a few minutes’ walk from the taxi drop-off.
Being a palace and all, it does come at a higher price. But if you’re looking for a more elevated experience, it’s a great choice.

5. Riad Shemsi (budget option)
Last on our list is Riad Shemsi, one of the cheapest Riads that, despite its lower price (half the price of others), still provides a great experience with comfy rooms. Plus, it has a decently sized swimming pool, which is surprising.
The highlight, but maybe a negative for some, is its peaceful location further away from the busiest medina streets. It’s located on the southern edge of the medina, about a 20-minute walk from the main attractions like Jemaa el-Fnaa square, El Badi Palace, and Bahia Palace.
Another great thing about this riad is that it’s perfect if you plan to rent a car for a road trip around Morocco and want to stay in Marrakesh with a car, as there’s convenient parking nearby for 4-5 EUR per day (5-minute walk).
