We’re both from the Balkans (Croatia & Slovenia), and in our opinion, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the most Balkan country of them all. Largely because of the culture and the fact that it’s composed of three distinct ethnic groups – Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs – who are all majorities.
While Bosnia and Herzegovina isn’t statistically the most mountainous country in the Balkans, hills and mountains are part of everyday life and every drive when traveling around.
Beyond mountains, the country is rich with waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and breathtaking views.
Today, it’s a super safe country with friendly, welcoming people. It’s also a developed country, no matter what some might say.
We visited Bosnia and Herzegovina multiple times, and recently did a big two-week road trip around all the best spots in the country, with plenty of activities and adventure. We had a great time!
