Villa Wambatu – Jungle Paradise near Galle, Sri Lanka

Villa Wambatu is a modern and fun villa, light-hearted in its conception, and bold in its design. It is situated outside Galle and offers the perfect place to stay while visiting this popular location in Sri Lanka. Despite many tourists visiting, you can still get a peaceful and quiet stay by booking this villa.

Villa Wambatu offers privacy as it is surrounded by jungle and located outside Galle city, but is still close enough to all the main attractions. Wambatu is a trademark of this villa. It means eggplant, and according to this trademark colors of the villa are pink and purple.

Book a room or the whole villa

The Villa has five main bedrooms (with bathrooms), a kitchen, a dining room, two living rooms, and a huge swimming pool. Villa Wambatu is not like every other villa. An enormous roof supported by massive Palmyra tree columns covers the main breezy living area adjacent to a stunning landscaped garden and a pool. Everything is connected, but at the same time, every room can function for itself. That’s why it is possible to rent a room alone or the entire villa. Each bedroom has its unique style, so choose wisely.

Try food from the villa’s private chef

I highly suggest hiring a villa’s private chef. Chef Anthony is a great cook and an even better human. He will cook anything your heart desires and is always ready to have a friendly conversation with you. Trying his rice and curry is a must.

What else does Villa Wambatu offer?

To make your stay more pleasant, you can book a massage as the villa also has a massage room. There is table tennis, TV and Netflix, board games, and a small library too.

What to do around the villa?

While staying in Villa Wambatu, don’t forget to visit:

  • Galle Fort (great place to watch the sunset)
  • Palm tree rope swing at Dalawella Beach (Dream Cabana is the exact spot)
  • Famous „Instagram rocks“ close to the palm tree (at Wijaya Beach).

If you’re feeling lazy, staying in the villa is also a great option as it offers the most magical sunset straight from the living room.

What is the price?

Prices for the room and the whole villa vary depending on the season and the choice of the room (in case you’re booking a room only).

I enjoyed my time in this extraordinary villa, and you can enjoy it too. The place is perfect for both working and relaxing. Let me know if you decided to stay here!

2022 UPDATE: It looks like the villa is no longer available for rent.
