Our Jungle House is one of the best hotels in Khao Sok. It is known for its beautiful treehouses in the rainforest, which immediately caught our attention while planning our trip to Khao Sok.
We knew we had to stay there!
Fun fact: Our Jungle House opened the first treehouse in Khao Sok National Park, so it’s a popular hotel that’s often booked out.
- Check the availability for your dates so you do not miss out!
During our 3 days in Khao Sok, we spent 1 night in a treehouse in Our Jungle House and 1 night in an earth house in their sister property, Our Jungle Camp, which is right next door.
In this article, we’ll give you our honest review of Our Jungle House resort and all the things and tips you need to know before booking this hotel.
While it’s absolutely gorgeous, this hotel is not for everyone, so continue reading to see if it’s a perfect fit for you!

Our Jungle House Location
Our Jungle House is located in a quiet part of a rainforest in Khao Sok, beside the river. It’s about 900 meters, or a 15-minute walk, from Khao Sok Village. It will be dark at night, so you should have a headlamp.
However, we didn’t feel the need to go to Khao Sok Village as the resort had everything we needed. There is a great restaurant and bar on site, and during the day, we were pretty busy with all the activities.
The resort is also close to the main entrance of Khao Sok National Park, only 2 km away.
Transport tip: To get to Khao Sok, we booked a bus here.
Accomodation
Our Jungle House offers rooms perfect for all types of travelers, from couples to groups of friends and families. You can choose between a treehouse or a bungalow, which can host between 2 and 6 guests.
Each of their rooms/houses is unique in its own way and has a slightly different design and view since they’re spread out around the beautiful forest.
Since only the family treehouse was available for our dates, we stayed there.
Open-air room design
All the rooms have an open-air design, which means they are more open to help with air circulation, especially during humid months. Therefore, it’s not uncommon for bugs and geckos to get inside. You are in the middle of the jungle, after all!
That’s why you should use a mosquito net and possibly a mosquito spray for a good night’s sleep. However, we had no problems during our stay as we were there in mid-January, a dry season in Khao Sok.

Our Jungle House treehouse review
As mentioned, the treehouses in Our Jungle House Resort in Khao Sok are very popular, so we stayed in a family treehouse, the only option available on our dates.
Our Khao Sok treehouse was in a very peaceful spot in the Khao Sok rainforest, away from neighbours, the reception, and the restaurant. It was perfect for us.
While we wish we could have stayed in the riverfront treehouse with an incredible river view, we absolutely loved our treehouse.
Our family treehouse had a king-size bed and a bunk bed in the corner. We loved the space in the room, especially the open closets (our favorite) and hangers.
The bathroom was simple but had a hot shower, which is all that matters.
All in all, this is a simple and minimal accommodation in Khao Sok in a unique location. Don’t expect luxury, but there will be everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Room amenities
Treehouses and bungalows at Our Jungle House include:
- Mosquito net
- Mosquito coil (super helpful!)
- Drinking water (refillable)
- Hot shower
- Standing fan
- Safety box
- Shampoo & body wash
- Drying rack
Our Jungle House rooms DON’T INCLUDE:
- AC (but they do have a fan)
- WiFi in the rooms (available at the reception, bar, and restaurant area)
- Kettle
- Fridge
Good to know: It’s not unusual for monkeys to come! So, don’t keep any food or snacks in your room, and always close windows and doors if you’re not there. And while it might seem cute, they can make quite a mess! Arijana experienced this first-hand while in Kenya.
And remember, don’t feed the wildlife, including monkeys!
Things we loved about the treehouse in Our Jungle House
Comfy beds
For us, the beds at Our Jungle House treehouse were extremely comfortable and we had an amazing sleep. But definitely remember to put the mosquito net before sleeping.
Spacious deck
Every treehouse has a spacious deck with comfy loungers and a table, perfect for chilling.
There’s also a drying rack, which came in handy for drying our swimsuits and towels.
No TV or WiFi in rooms
I know this is a weird one, and we can’t believe we’re actually saying this, but yes, there is no TV or WiFi in the rooms. 😁
Since the point of staying at Our Jungle House is to reconnect with nature and enjoy this unique location, we found that having no TV or WiFi in the rooms was a good thing!
While we still had an internet connection through our Thailand eSIM (this one), we didn’t feel the need to be on the phones at all!
Nature sounds
Our favorite part of our stay at Our Jungle House was probably the jungle sounds when we went to sleep.
Sustainability efforts
We loved seeing the sustainability practices at Our Jungle House, such as:
- Filtered water in rooms and common areas (no plastic bottles, and you’re welcome to refill your own bottles)
- Gardens with vegetables and spices
- Employment of local Khao Sok community
- Protection of rainforest on the property
Of course, there’s always room for improvement, but this is already a lot! We love staying at hotels that take care of the environment they’re in.
Our Jungle House restaurant and bar
Our Jungle House has an on-site restaurant serving tasty local Thai and Western Dishes. You can order breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
They can also adjust the menu to your special dietary requirements. For example, we adjusted some dishes to be vegetarian.
The food at Our Jungle House was delicious, and the portions were nice – not too small and not too big.
While breakfast is not included in the room rate, you can pay for it on the spot. There are a few different options, which we chose the night before. The menu is not crazy big, but there is something for everyone’s taste. The breakfast portions were the perfect size for our taste.
P.S. Be aware of the monkeys! They sneakily jumped at our table during breakfast and tried to steal our food. We never saw it coming! 😅
There is also a bar above the restaurant where you can chill throughout the day and late into the night with cocktails, mocktails, and other drinks. The view from it is fantastic!
Activities
You can organize plenty of activities at Our Jungle House, such as cooking classes, hiking, and many activities for children.
And you can also book an overnight stay on Cheow Lan Lake with them. To learn more about it, read our 2 day Khao Sok Lake Tour Review.
Good to know: While we always carry our own dry bag with us, you can also borrow one from the resort for specific water activities! You just pay the deposit, which is returned to you when you return the bag.
There is a lot to do in Khao Sok, so it’s easy to be busy! Read more about all the activities in our Khao Sok Travel Guide.
Free activities that you can do at Our Jungle House are river tubing, nature walks, bathing and your own “safari”.
We chose the free river tubing option, as we visited in the dry season, so the more adventurous tubing wasn’t possible. We did it on the part of the river in front of the property.
You can also bathe in the river, which we loved. One part also has a rope with which you can swing into the water.
Another great thing about Our Jungle House is the small paths through the rainforest, which you can take yourself – highly recommended.
One night, we did our own “safari walk” and saw several animals, like a snake swimming in the river, owls, frogs, and monkeys. It was fun!
Of course, this can’t replace a real night safari in Khao Sok (read more about the official night safari here), but it was still impressive that we could do it just by walking around our house!

Final thoughts
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Our Jungle House. It provided an unforgettable time in a unique location without breaking the bank.
However, we understand that this experience might not be for everyone. This is not a luxurious stay but a place to feel closer to nature, and while the treehouses are beautiful, they are simple.
If you love nature, then this is a perfect place for you.
However, this might not be the best choice for you if you’re not a fan of bugs or nature sounds (like frogs, which can be pretty loud at night). In that case, read our guide to the Best Khao Sok Hotels to find your perfect stay for Khao Sok.
