Top-Rated Khao Sok Hotels for Every Budget - Best Khao Sok Hotels - Where to stay in Khao Sok

About Khao Sok accommodation

Before we help you choose the best Khao Sok hotel, you need to know that the Khao Sok area has two main places where people visit and stay: Khao Sok Village and Cheow Lan Lake, also known as Khao Sok Lake.

It’s important to know that Khao Sok Village is a 1-hour drive from Khao Sok Lake.

That’s why you might visit just one of these areas depending on your plans and time.

Khao Sok Village and Cheow Lan Lake

Khao Sok Village is the starting point for many hikes, night jungle safaris, river activities like kayaking, tubing, bamboo rafting, etc.

Cheow Lan Lake (Khao Sok Lake) is the area where you can find the iconic floating raft houses and stay overnight. Plus, enjoy kayaking, boat safaris, and some more hikes. This is also the place where you have an opportunity to see wild elephants!

Khao Sok Lake is usually visited on tours, as you can’t go around without a guide. You can base yourself in Khao Sok Village and explore Khao Sok on land before going to the lake. That’s what we did.

Things to know before booking a Khao Sok Hotel

Here are a few things you need to know before you choose your best Khao Sok hotel.

  • Most hotels in Khao Sok are simple and basic, but they will have all the amenities you need during the stay.
  • Khao Sok is getting increasingly popular, so if you want a good stay, you must book in advance, especially in the dry season from November to April (the peak season).
  • That said, room rates will also be the highest during this period.
  • While staying in Khao Sok Village, it’s best to have a hotel close to the main street (if you want to be close to the restaurants and shops), but if you want a bit more peace and quiet, choose a hotel that’s a bit tucked away closer to the nature. In this list of best Khao Sok hotels, we list both. ☺️
  • Always close your doors and windows, especially if you stay closer to the jungle, as there are many monkeys in Khao Sok.

Whether you want a fancy stay in the rainforest or a nice and affordable place by the Sok River, Khao Sok has something special for you. Let’s look at some of the best choices.

Our Jungle House

Imagine waking up in a treehouse in the middle of the jungle to the peaceful sounds of nature with a river view. Well, that’s what you can get at Our Jungle House

Our Jungle House is one of the best and most unique hotels in Khao Sok. It offers cute bungalows and stunning treehouses in the middle of the rainforest and on the river.

Our Jungle House is the perfect hotel in Khao Sok for families and couples.

On top of that, Our Jungle House has the perfect location in Khao Sok. It’s close enough to the main street of Khao Sok Village (15-20 minutes on foot), but at the same time, it’s tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, offering you a peaceful retreat.

We stayed in one of their treehouses and absolutely loved our stay in nature. We also saw many animals, especially monkeys, just by walking on the resort’s premises.

It also has its own restaurant with delicious food (vegetarian and vegan options), which is super convenient if you don’t want to walk to the main street.

But hurry up! This hotel is super popular (for a reason!), so you need to book in advance!

Our Jungle Camp – Eco Resort

Our Jungle Camp is another one of the best hotels in Khao Sok. It is a sister property of Our Jungle House, located next to each other in the rainforest.

By staying here, you can sleep while listening to the sounds of nature in the rainforest (especially frogs, at least in our case 😁).

Many small paths take you through the jungle, with many small gardens of flowers, vegetables, and herbs along the way. Those are later used in the resort’s restaurant.

Our Jungle Camp has different types of rooms: simple bungalows, earth houses, and treehouses. We spent 1 night in one of their cute earth houses.

For digital nomads or full-time travelers, we recommend SafetyWing, which includes brief visits to your home country every 3 months abroad.

Our Jungle Camp also has its own restaurant and a bar area – perfect for relaxing.

As with Our Jungle House, staying in Our Jungle Camp allows you to see animals, especially monkeys,  since you’re staying in the jungle after all.

It also gets booked out quickly, so if you want to stay here, you must book it as soon as possible!
