Best Split Boat Trips - Best Split Boat Tours - Guide by a local expert

As locals who have done many boat trips and traveled extensively in Croatia, plus other countries, we know which boat tours make the most sense in Split.

Split is the perfect place in Croatia for fun boat trips, and we have hand-picked only the best ones. From family-friendly cruises, must-do island-hopping trips, and even party boats.

Every boat tour in this article provides excellent value for money and is run by trusted tour operators with years of experience.

Best boat trips and island-hopping tours in Split

1. Sunset Cruise with Live Music

A really great, although short, boat trip in Split is the Sunset Cruise with Live Music. It’s the perfect way to finish your day of exploring Split in style!

It cruises for about two hours along the Split coastline, especially around Marjan hill towards Kaštela Bay, with unlimited soft drinks, wine, sparkling wine, and beer.

This cruise is family-friendly, as it’s a more laid-back version of the standard party cruises.

2. Blue Lagoon Sunset Boat Party

Split is famous for party boats, so if you want to end your day with a party, we recommend booking the Blue Lagoon Sunset Boat Partythe biggest and best sunset party boat in Split.

Compared to the more chilled sunset cruise, which lasts only 2 hours, this party boat trip lasts 5 to 6 hours, starting at around 2 or 3 PM.

On the trip, you get a free shot, a professional photographer, and get to swim in the crystal-clear waters of Blue Lagoon, before the boat turns into a floating party to finish off the day.

3. Blue Cave and Island Hopping

First on our list, and our favorite island-hopping tour from Split, is the Blue Cave Tour. We did this exact same tour, and it was a great day out!

On the tour, we visited the breathtaking Blue Cave on Biševo Island. But not only that. We also stopped off at Vis Island (known for the filming of Mamma Mia), then at a blue lagoon (a great swimming stop), and visited the famous Hvar Island.

If you only have an extra day in Split and want to see some cool stuff at the nearby beautiful islands, this is the tour to book.

4. All-Inclusive Four Islands Tour

The second-best island-hopping tour, especially if Blue Cave doesn’t interest you, is the All-Inclusive Four Islands Tour aboard a large catamaran.

It’s focused on sailing around the islands, with great swim stops in between. However, the highlight of the trip is a visit to Hvar Island, where a guided tour is included in the price.

After a relaxing day sailing, a party is organized to finish the day on the way back to Split.

This all-inclusive tour offers free drinks and snacks throughout the day in addition to breakfast and lunch. TIP: Let the team know in advance, and they can accommodate you if you’re gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian.

5. Blue Lagoon and Three Islands Tour

The last island-hopping tour on our list is the Blue Lagoon and Three Islands Tour.

This is one of the most popular boat tour routes in Split because it focuses more on swimming and snorkeling stops and includes visiting the breathtaking Blue Lagoon with crystal-clear blue waters.

Like the previous tour, this specific one we recommend is also all-inclusive. It serves breakfast and lunch (with veggie options) and unlimited drinks (water, lemonade, wine).

This is the best choice for a boat tour with more swimming time.

OPTIONAL: If you want to visit the ancient town of Trogir, you can book this alternative tour, which visits the Blue Lagoon but also stops in Trogir (a great ancient town near Split).

6. Private Boat Charter and Private Organized Tours

Now that we have explored the top picks for shared boat and island-hopping tours in Split, let’s see the best private tours and private boat charters for organizing a more personal experience at sea.

Our personal private boat recommendation is this organized private tour with a fun skipper, a well-planned itinerary to the Blue Lagoon, and extra secret spots away from crowds. It’s the perfect choice if you want an organized day.

However, if you’d rather have a private day at sea where you can choose your own itinerary, we recommend this private boat charter with attentive skippers and good itinerary recommendations.

Alternatively, we recommend this private sailing trip if you want to be on a sailboat and experience sailing around the islands from Split.

7. One Week Sailing from Split to Dubrovnik

The ultimate boat trip from Split is to sail for one week on a sailboat to Dubrovnik, visiting stunning islands like Hvar, Korčula, and Mljet (Green Island) on the way.

We went on a similar sailing trip, except we returned to Split (as we were with a car), instead of continuing to Dubrovnik. It was the best experience we had in Croatia! You can read our trip review for more details.

This is the absolute best way to spend a lot of time at the sea and also see some of Croatia’s best island destinations. Plus, you get to travel from Split to Dubrovnik in the best possible way – on a sailboat!
